Bergerac began his career in the theatre, appearing in productions such as The Imaginary Invalid (1951) and The Miser (1952). He made his film debut in The Story of Three Loves (1953). He went on to appear in films such as The Happy Road (1957), The Swan (1956), and The V.I.P.s (1963).
